6. Baku Inspires

During two last days I was drawing an illustration of our university we needed for a cover of our new video project (unfortunately, the quality of the picture is destroyed). And while making this illustration I noticed that the contour of this picture without any colors, gradients and shadows can look very modern and stylish.

As a result I thught why not to make an illustration of some other famous building of our city and of cource the first architectural construction which came to my mind were Flame Towers. I immediately started to draw them. During the process I remembered our initial idea if making T-shirts and decided to try to combine my hobby and the design of T-shirt. And here is the result of my work (the picture of towers is not finilized yet).

I am going to continue drawing different buildings of our city in order to enlarge the amout of possible design for collection of T-shirts "Baku Inspires".

3. Coding and Creativity? Where is the connection?

I was always feeling envious towards people with drawing skills, because it seems a miracle to me to create someting extremely realisticand beautiful from ordinary peace of paper.I confess that I have never even tried to learn, but still it have always been my dream to be able to create something from nothing. However, our life can bring us interesting surprises sometimes. Last year I started to work as a web designer in ADA and found out that in order to draw you don't have to have drawing skills: several programms, imagination and you can create whatever you want in electronic format. This work inspires me a lot and gives a lot of opprotunities to share my creative ideas with the world.
This week we are going to conduct an event in ADA which goal is to teach students the basics of coding (by the way you can attend it too if you wish). Organizing and promoting event is not as easy as it can seem to be, especially when you are just a student with lack of experience in this field. However, our small team is dealing with all obstacles and doing our best to hold this event on the highest level. The name of our event is "Hour of Code x ADA".
The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Anyone, anywhere can organize an Hour of Code event. One-hour tutorials are available in over 40 languages. No experience needed. Ages 4 to 104.

Here is the poster made by me which you will probably see many times in our university during  this week:

2. Beyond the boundaries / Web-Design

Several days ago I started with the book "60 innovators shaping our creative future" which as a result caused very contraversary impressions and inspired me on some ideas connected with my work. Two main blocks of the book which attracted my attention were Web-design and, for sure, Photography.  But in this post I'm going to talk mainly about Web-design.     Besides Photography I'm also interested in Web-design because currently this is the main field of my occupation, as I work as a web designer in our university. Although I always stand for creative ideas and new approaches in all fields somehow connected with art, I also consider that web is for everyone that is why to make it to difficult. Too much of a good thing is good for nothing. The same thing with creativity. Your idea can be crazy, innovative, but what is the purpose of its existance if it is not understandable for others? Maybe exactly because of this among all innovators listed in Web-design block I recognized only and was impressed only by Jonathan Harris. This does not mean that I do not understand the ideas and the core of innovation of other artists, but I suppose that I get the main point of these new creative ideas only because I work in this field. At the end of the day what's the purpose of creating web designs which can be understood only by web designers? It is the same as baking bread only for bakers.
In case of Jonathan Harris his ideas are so simple, but so amazing and interesting, so they can be shared with people who do not even know the explanation of the word "Web-design", they just see the soul of his creations. I can also explain my admiration for this artist by his idea of conjuction of web design and photography. One of my favorite projects created by him is "Today" which he conducted due to his 30 birthday. Every day he took the picture and posted in to web and this was the result:  Today.

1. Hello, this is my first post

What is creativity? Why everyone cares about it? And what is even more important: Do I have this creaitivity in me? These are the questions which first appeared in my mind when I decided to take the cource of Creaitivity in Arts and Beyond. In my opinion, the question "What is creativity?" is more about philosophy than about some precise definition. However, I expect to define what it is for me in order to get to know if I can call myself creative. Today it became a fashion to cal yourself creativy, full of ideas and new aproaches just to raise your authority among your colleagues, friends or relatives, even if in fact you are just following the crowd in its aspiration to "be different". However at the end of the day all these "different" poeple become copy-paste variaties of each other.
When I started to think about my creaitivity, I felt a little bit confused, because, despite the fact I am involved into so many projects in which I am supposed to show all my creativ way of thinking, it is really difficult to state with 100% confidence that I am a creative person. That is why in this blog I am going to tell you one by one about sides of my creativity and my vision of it.
In the last lecture I was the one who wanted to spend 1 million on photo equipment and travelling. Maybe 1 million does not worth it and this way of spending it will not bring a lot of benefit to human race, but who said that it has to? Our life is so short and runs so fast, that the best investment you can do is investment in your own knowledge and education. And for me the best education is travelling, seeing new places and new people. And the best way to capture all these precious moments which do not worth any amount of money is to take pictures. Maybe because of this I've been working as a photographer for 5 years. I can't say that I have an outstanding talent, but at least I can say that all my photos have a piece of my soul. And wanted to share a few of them with you :)
P.S. My hard disk with ALL my photos broke several days ago, that is why I have only a few of them at the moment. However, I also share a youtube link of my present to my close friends a few years ago. This is a video created with 1000 photos taken and edited by me. Hope you will enjoy :)
